COLA
Every year, seniors receive a small bump in their Social Security checks to help them keep up with inflation. Until now. For the first time, seniors will not receive a Cost of Living Adjustment (COLA) in 2010, and may not get one in 2011, either.
This is particularly bad news, given that costs continue to skyrocket even while checks remain flat. It’s no wonder that more seniors now live beneath the poverty line than ever before. Through humor, our new Public Service Announcements show that seniors are “Out of COLA.”
The Senior Citizens League is working to ease their burden. By providing seniors with information on how to maximize their Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security benefits and lobbying Congress on their behalf, we are making their lives a bit easier.
Please review and download our "Out of COLA” :30 and :60 television PSAs here, and run them as often as you can between now and 1/1/11. With your help, we can help millions of seniors get access to the information they need to improve their quality of life.
