March for Babies, 2012

Today 1,500 babies will be born too soon and too small. Many will have serious health issues. The March of Dimes is working to help moms have healthy pregnancies and save babies' lives. Please support us by encouraging your audience to join the thousands of people who participate in the March for Babies in your community, walking together for stronger, healthier babies. You can begin using these spots immediately.

Join The Fight for Stronger, Healthier Babies.

Every parent wants a healthy baby. But it doesn't always happen that way. Each year more than half a million babies are born prematurely in our country. Some of them die. Premature birth is responsible for more than 10,000 of the nearly 28,000 infant deaths each year. Babies who survive may face lives of severe disability like blindness, mental retardation and cerebral palsy. Premature birth takes a terrible toll on babies and families in your own community and across the nation. Yet surveys show that the public doesn't even know it's a problem.

That's where you come in. We encourage you to join the fight for stronger, healthier babies by placing these PSAs into your active rotation. Your support can help raise the public's awareness of this national crisis and help bring more babies home healthy. You will note that we have a number of different PSAs to appeal to your various audiences: celebrity spots (Julie Bowen and Shawn Johnson), the Surgeon General, spots in Spanish (including Thalia) and Julie Bowen discussing the importance of carrying your baby for at least 39 weeks. Julie Bowen, Shawn Johnson, Thalia and the Surgeon General are all strong supporters of the March of Dimes' fight against premature birth.

Finally, we hope the different lengths (TV :60, :30, :15) and (Radio 60:, :30, :10) help you in getting our spots into your rotation. These spots are evergreen and you can begin using them immediately. Thank you for your help and support as we work together for stronger, healthier babies.

Signature Chefs Auction

Signature Chefs Auctions are exciting events that pay tribute to the culinary distinction of 15 to 20 of the finest chefs, caterers and local celebrity chefs while raising money to support the March of Dimes mission of saving babies. Each chef is asked to present their signature dish in miniature form as well as donate a unique package to be sold during a live auction. After enjoying a large reception, enticing silent auction packages, guests are invited to bid on a variety of packages related to entertainment, dining, leisure and travel in our live auction.

Held in almost 200 cities across the country, Signature Chefs Auctions have raised more than $148 million for the March of Dimes since 1989. In 2010, our Signature Chefs Auction evenings raised more than $15 million. Our Signature Chefs Auctions' elegant combination of fabulous food, great wines, good company, priceless auction packages, and a great cause will create an evening to remember!

Many chefs from across America come together every fall for our great cause. Some include: Hell's Kitchen Season 3 winner and March of Dimes Signature Chefs Auction National Celebrity Chef, Chef Rahman "Rock" Harper, Chef Kent Rathbun, Chef Ronald Cheng, Chef Hans Aeschbacher, Chef Gabriel Viti, Chef Erling Jensen, Chef John Besh, Chef Klaus Feyersinger to name a few.

The :30 "Signature Chef" TV PSA is intended to raise awareness of the event and encourage people to participate.
