U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Janet Napolitano believes that homeland security begins with hometown security—that everyday citizens can play a critical role in helping to keep their communities and hometowns safe. That's why last year, the Department launched the "If You See Something, Say Something™ " campaign nationwide—it's an effort to engage the public to be more aware and vigilant to the indicators of terrorism and terrorism-related crime. As part of our efforts to engage the public, we are pleased to present to you the "If You See Something, Say Something" Public Service Announcement. We would appreciate your help in securing some much-needed air time.

Originally used by New York's Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), the initiative has been licensed to DHS for anti-terrorism and anti-crime efforts. The enclosed PSA depicts examples of suspicious behavior and suspicious activity and informs the public about what they should do if they see something suspicious. We hope that you will join us in our efforts to keep our communities safer and make the public more aware of suspicious activity, as well as the steps to take to report it.
