In March 2009, the President and the U.S. Congress permanently conserved more than 28 million acres of public lands in the American West-the National Conservation Lands. Located right in your own backyard, these spectacular lands have been set aside for their natural beauty, thriving ecosystems, and great historical and cultural importance.

At the Conservation Lands, you can take in some of the nation’s largest open and undisturbed stretches of wilderness, or even visit the very same forts and stagecoach stops once used by Western icons such as Billy the Kid, Kit Carson, Pancho Villa, and Pat Garrett.

Although these lands have been protected, they still are at risk from looting, vandalism, and other serious misuse. By highlighting their importance and the need to conserve them, the Conservation Lands Foundation can help protect these areas for current and future generations.

You can help. Please consider placing these PSAs in your publication so that the public will always be able to experience the beauty, culture, and history that awaits at these spectacular national treasures.
