At work, it’s what people CAN do that matters. That’s the simple message that several leading disability and business organizations wanted to convey when they established the Campaign for Disability Employment – a new public outreach effort to promote the hiring, retention and advancement of people with disabilities. And who better to communicate this message than the many people with disabilities who can and do make important contributions to America’s workplaces and economy every day. The “I Can” PSA introduces us to a few such individuals.

“I Can” features seven real people – not actors – sharing what they “can do” when given the opportunity. Despite the achievements of these and many other talented individuals with disabilities, negative stereotypes about disability and employment persist. “I Can” challenges viewers to rethink assumptions they may have and consider what they can do – to advance disability employment and America’s ideal of equal opportunity for all.

The Campaign for Disability Employment is funded by the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) in partnership with several leading disability and business organizations.
