Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common childhood psychiatric disorders. Up to 67 percent of children with ADHD may continue to have symptoms as young adults and adults. ADHD is estimated to affect 4.4 percent of US adults aged 18 to 44 based on results from a nationally representative survey. When this percentage is extrapolated to the full US population aged 18 and over, approximately 10 million adults are believed to have ADHD.

However, there may be a perception among many young adults and adults that they have outgrown the ADHD they were diagnosed with as children or adolescents. That is why it is important for them to understand that this is not always the case and that the disorder may
continue into adulthood.

We would like to share this PSA for a new educational campaign called "Own It." The PSA features Adam Levine, lead singer of Maroon 5, discussing his personal experience with ADHD. This initiative, which is supported by the Attention Deficit Disorder Association (ADDA) and
Children and Adults with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD), and made possible by Shire, aims to motivate young adults and adults who were previously diagnosed with ADHD to take an ADHD quiz (self-report screener) and discuss the results with their physicians. This educational campaign is further supported by online and print awareness raising efforts.

Please consider placing this PSA into your rotation and thank you in advance for supporting the "Own It" campaign and helping increase awareness about ADHD and how children with ADHD may continue to have ADHD as adults.
