American Diabetes Association

Every 17 seconds, someone in America is diagnosed with diabetes. That's more than 35,000 friends, neighbors, co-workers and family members every week. Diabetes is an epidemic that threatens families, communities and businesses across our country. And it must be stopped.

In the next few months, the American Diabetes Association® will be encouraging Americans in cities and towns throughout our nation to be part of the movement to Stop Diabetes® by participating in our 21st annual Tour de Cure® cycling event. All funds raised at Tour de Cure events support the Association's mission -- to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Individuals and teams composed of co-workers, family and friends will take the ride of their lives and make a difference in our fight for tens of millions of Americans impacted by this devastating disease.

Tour de Cure is designed for everyone from the occasional bike rider to the experienced cyclist with routes ranging from 5-mile family rides to 100-mile "century" rides and more. Routes vary by location and all Tour de Cure events feature rest stops with great food to fuel the journey, volunteers to cheer riders on, and any mechanical support needed along the way. Everyone will return to enjoy the finish line festivities including a delicious lunch, entertainment and more!
