Last fall, Plowshare began its relationship with the United Way of America. The first assignment was a high profile one: disseminating an important message from the President of the United States.

This followed a decades-long tradition whereby U.S. Presidents have demonstrated their support for United Way and it’s mission. Produced as a TV and radio PSA campaign, President Bush, serving as an honorary spokesperson, talks about how United Way, “provides hope and opportunity where there is need and despair.”

This June (2006), Plowshare launched a Print PSA campaign that addresses such timely issues as drop-out prevention, early childhood education, and economic self-sufficiency. United Way is not about the so-called quick fixes, but about lasting change. That’s what matters. That’s United Way.
