How do you take a perceived negative and turn it into a positive? That was the issue facing PlowShare Group as we sought to reposition NCC, a two-year community college that was seen as an inferior or “lesser than” institution. Research revealed that today’s generation of students want instant gratification and this was the basis for the new theme line: NCC. The College That Gets You Where You’re Going Faster. This is not merely about speed; it’s as much about the quality of education, and this too is conveyed. To give NCC a distinct look, we chose “school bus” yellow as the signature color on all marketing communications. And to reach more prospective applicants, PlowShare put NCC on TV, using such targeted cable networks as MTV and ESPN. |
